AQUATIC & Water Aerobics STAFF

Gymnastics Team Head Coach

Lifeguards and Swim Instructors

  • Description: Individuals can work up to 35 hours a week.

After School Site Coordinator

  • Description: Part Time Site Coordinator for the before school and after school program. 25- 30 hours per week in an EEC Licensed Child Care Program.

camp STAR Coordinator

  • Status: Part-time, seasonal. This position runs February - August with camp running June, July & August.
  • Location: Greater Beverly YMCA
  • Description: This is a leadership role during our camp season.  Camp STAR is a fully inclusive camp for children with special needs.  Children get to participate in daily activities with our Sterling Woods Day Camp campers and focus on their socialization skills while receiving peer mentoring.  The Camp STAR Coordinator oversees this program including pre-camp intake meetings with camper families, child behavior plans, child and staff safety, staff interviewing and placement, staff supervision throughout the summer, and helping the Sterling Woods Camp Director with weekly and daily events and activity planning.  The STAR Coordinator is also responsible for following all YMCA of the North Shore, Greater Beverly YMCA and MA Department of Public Health camp rules and regulations including maintaining camper and staff personnel files, weekly staff meetings with counselors and weekly staff meeting with fellow directors and supervisor.

7D Van Drivers

The Greater Beverly YMCA is looking for a responsible and dedicated member of our team to transport our most precious cargo. Our van drivers are committed to safety, develop relationships with the children they transport and their families and help us accomplish an important part of our support for the community.

Associate Maintenance Director

  • Status: Full time, exempt
  • Location: Greater Beverly YMCA
  • Description: The Greater Beverly Y Maintenance Director will oversee the cleanliness of all Sterling and Cabot Y facilities and is responsible for the direct supervision of the Sterling and Cabot Y custodial staff.  Through direct supervision of the Greater Beverly Senior Facility Director, the Greater Beverly Y Associate Maintenance Director will assist with facility projects and maintenance of equipment at all facilities on the Sterling Y and Cabot Y campuses.  
  • Requirements: High School Degree or Equivalent. Previous experience in custodial work, custodial supervision a plus. Basic knowledge of building related trades such as plumbing, electrical, carpentry, HVAC repairs, etc. Must be able to physically demonstrate skills necessary to properly keep all facilities clean and maintained. Must be able to lift 50lbs. Must maintain valid Massachusetts Driver’s License.

Adaptive Staff

Housing Facilities Manager

Reporting to the Housing and Facility Director, the facility manager is responsible for the care and upkeep of our housing units in Beverly to positively impact the lives of individuals and families in our community. Duties include maintenance of equipment, staffing support, painting and building up-keep, extermination processes and cleanliness. COUNSELOR IN TRAINING/CAMP INTERNSHIP MENTOR

  • Status: Part-Time (April-August, with camp running June, July and August)

  • Description: This position will assist with our Camp Internship and Counselor in Training participants in camp orientations, trainings, and meeting prior to camp beginning and assist these participants during the summer.  Our Camp Mentor will help review leadership skills and teach best practices in the camp leadership field.  Participant’s daily activities will also be monitored and observed by our Camp Mentor, and discussions about leadership skills, and their daily observations will be led.  Applicants must have at least two years of experience working with youth in a leadership role.

Kids Club - Caretakers

  • Status: Part time, hourly

  • Description: To engage, play and interact with children from Infancy through 8 years. Staff work in assigned “Play Zones” that are designed by age group and developmental levels of children. Each “Play Zone” has appropriate toys and materials for children to use while under our care. Children spend from 1 to 2 hours with us in the Kids Club program while their parent(s) are on-site working out in the YMCA. 
  • Requirements: Enjoy being with children, a strong patience, high energy level and physically able to move quickly and work with children on the floor. Experience working with children is preferred.

Kids Club Coordinator

  • Status: Part time, Hourly
  • Location: Lynch/van Otterloo YMCA
  • Description: Under the guidance of the Early Learning Director, the Kids Club Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Kids Club Room to provide a safe and friendly environment for all members, staff and children.
    Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to; manage and oversee the policies, procedures and member service standards, maintain health and safety records, parent communication, oversee the maintenance of materials, work with staff to develop age appropriate seasonal art activities, manage staff supervision, schedules and substitute coverage, hiring staff as needed and to maintain a solid substitute pool, function as liaison between the day and evening shifts, and relay all pertinent information to the Early Learning Director.
  • Requirements: The ideal candidate should have a minimum of two years experience working with children and families. Flexibility of schedule is required and will consist of morning, evening and weekend hours.
    The ideal candidate must be knowledgeable of basic child development stages as noted in the Massachusetts Early Learning Guidelines for Infant, Toddler and Preschool Children and proficient in the use of Windows based computer software programs including MS Office.
    The ability to develop positive, effective working relationships with staff, volunteers and members is important to this position. Effective written and verbal communication skills, the ability to deliver good member service and a high level of enthusiasm are required.

Marketing & Communications Director

  • Description: The YMCA of the North Shore has an immediate opening for a full-time Director of Marketing and Communications. As the hands-on leader of the Marketing and Communications Team, reporting directly to the Chief Strategy and Marketing Officer, the Director plays an integral role in developing, articulating, and promoting the YMCA's community impact through multi-channel marketing. The Director is responsible for the planning and execution of marketing programs to support the YMCA's strategic goals, and partnering with operations teams in seven local YMCAs to ensure development, prioritization and delivery of initiatives.
  • Essential Functions
    - Performs the planning, development and implementation of all Y marketing strategies, marketing communications and internal and external public relations activities.
    - Directs the efforts of the marketing and communications staff and coordinates the strategic and tactical levels with other functional teams within the organization.
    - Ensures development and execution of a comprehensive marketing and communication plan that will enhance the organization's image and position within the marketplace and facilitate external communication to the public.
    - Ensures articulation of the Y's desired image and position to include consistent messaging and image.
    - Assumes overall responsibility for editorial direction, design, production and distribution of Y publications and digital presence.
    - Coordinate media interest on the organization's behalf, and delivers regular contact with target media with prompt, appropriate response to media requests.
    - Provides internal counsel and guidance to leaders on marketing, communications and public relations.
    - Leads projects as assigned, including but not limited to special events and cause related marketing.
    - Plans and administers the marketing operating budget.
    - Responsible for the achievement of marketing & communications goals and financial objectives. Leads measurement of evaluation systems and reports on ROI for marketing.
    - Serves as YMCA resource to the local Y's and a brand leader to ensure ongoing brand fidelity.
    - All other duties as required for the overall success of the organization.
  • Requirements: The ideal candidate is an enthusiastic and passionate self-starter, comfortable with working in a progressive, energetic non-profit setting. This role requires strong leadership, communications, and relationship-building skills as well as a solid foundation in marketing and consumer insights. The director will be responsible for leading and supporting a skilled, creative marketing and communications team, currently consisting of the director, a Graphic Designer, and a Communications Director.

Swim Team Coaches

  • Status: Part time
  • Location: All YMCAs
  • Qualifications: The North Shore YMCA, with branches in Haverhill, Ipswich, Cape Ann, Beverly, Salem and Marblehead, is looking for part time swim coaches for our Senior groups, Age groups & Novice level groups. We are a competitive Swim Team for athletes ages 5 and up, of various levels. In order to be considered for this position, you must be available Monday-Friday evenings, as well as Saturday morning and occasional weekend meets.
  • Requirements: Candidates should have swim coaching experience, knowledge of stroke technique, good communication skills, and a can do attitude. Coaches should have or be willing to obtain CPR & First Aid certifications. It is encouraged that they also possess a current Lifeguarding certification or have completed the Red Cross Safety Training for Swim Coaches. ASCA certification and YMCA Principles of Competitive Swimming is preferred, or must be obtained during the first year of hire. Competitive swimming experience is preferred but not required.

  • Teachers: Must be 21 years of age or older or have a high school diploma or equivalent and at least meet one of the three following requirements: (1) have successfully completed 3 credits in category Child Growth and Development and have nine months work experience or one practicum,  (2) have a Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential, or, (3) have graduated from a two year high school vocational program in Early Childhood Education, approved by the Department for both the experience and education requirements and have been evaluated and recommended by the program instructor.
