AQUATIC & Water Aerobics STAFF

    Description:

Member Services Representative

  • Status: Part-time, Hourly

  • Description: Under the direction of the Member Service Director, the Member Service Representative is responsible for the multi-tasked operation of the Member Service Center.   This position requires a genuine interest in people, and the ability to build relationships with our members to effectively develop a sense of ownership while instilling the YMCA character values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility.

AFTER SCHOOL GROUP LEADER

  • Status: Part time

  • Description: Part time Group Leader for the before school and after school program. Hours are 6:30 AM-9:00 AM and 2:00 PM - 6:00 PM working in an EEC Licensed Child Care Program.

Lifeguard

While on duty, a lifeguard has a legal and moral obligation to take action to protect all swimmers and patrons in the aquatic area and to respond to emergencies per YMCA protocols.

Youth Sports and Gymnastics Program Assistant

  • Status: Part-Time, Hourly
  • Location: Cape Ann YMCA
  • Description: Teach classes in either sports or gymnastics- depending on candidate’s background.  Must be able to teach at least 6 hours a week. Develop marketing pieces for sports and gymnastics program. Conduct session based observations on sports and gymnastics program to ensure quality is being offered. Assist with parent communication on an ongoing basis with parents involved in programs. Assist with League coordination throughout the year. Coordinate Sports and Gymnastics birthday parties; provide the guests with a high level experience. Assist Senior Program Director in special events throughout the year. Have a good working relationship with the Senior Program Director and other YMCA Professional Staff members.
  • Requirements: Ideal Candidates will possess experience working with kids ages 2-12, love for either sports or gymnastics and willing to teach classes and programs, experience using Microsoft excel, publisher and word, communication skills both oral and written, and flexibility and able to keep organized in a changing work environment.

After School Staff: Site Coordinators and Group Leaders

  • Status: Part-time, hourly
  • Location: Cape Ann YMCA
  • Description: Give kids an amazing after school experience as part of our YMCA's After School Child Care program. We're currently looking to fill both Site-Coordinator and Group Leader positions at both our on-site and off-site program locations.

    Site-Coordinators are key leaders in our licensed after school programs. They oversee an after school site (either on or off-site) by developing and running programs, supervising staff, developing relationships with parents and kids and ensuring that every child has a fun and safe experience. To be a Site Coordinator you need to be 20 years old with at least a high school diploma or equivalent, and have one year of experience working with children, or have a bachelor's degree in a related field with six months working working with children, or a bachelor's degree in an unrelated field with nine months working with children.

    Group Leaders are responsible for running safe and fun programs for children after school. In addition to making sure that every day is both fun and educational, Group Leaders build relationships with parents and teach kids values by being role model. To be a Group Leader you need to be 18 years old with comply with the Department of Early Education and Care requirements, including having nine months experience working with children.
     
  • Requirements: The successful candidate for either position loves to work and interact with kids, is reliable, and is available on weekdays from 2pm - 6pm. Both positions are part-time, with flexible weekday schedule available.
  • Pay: Pay is commensurate with qualifications and size of after school site but starts at $9.00 and up (Group Leaders) and $12.00 and up (Site Coordinators). All YMCA staff receive a free membership, with access to all YMCAs of the North Shore.

  • Description: This position will be responsible for general supervision of students in after school programs. Must have great written and verbal communication skills and be detail-oriented. Applicant will be responsible for planning and implementing curriculum for students in grades Kindergarten – 5th grade.  Activities may include homework help, gym and outside activities, group enrichment, arts & crafts and STEM projects. Applicant must be knowledgeable with EEC regulations. The After School Program Group Leader will display and encourage caring, responsibility, honesty and respect in the development of curriculum and in all actions in the program.
  • Requirements: Applicant must be at least 18 years old and meet one of the three requirements:  have a Bachelor’s Degree or an Associate’s Degree and have at least 3 months working with school age children; or have a high school diploma and 6 months working with school age children (in an after school program); or have 9 months working with school age children at an afterschool program.  Applicant must be First Aid and CPR certified; training available.

Dance Instructor

  • Status: Part-Time, Hourly.
  • Location: Greater Beverly YMCA
  • Requirements: Instructor must have a background in ballet, tap, jazz and hip hop, as well as a background in teaching beginner and intermediate levels.  Classes are/will be offered mornings, afternoons and weekends.  Instructor must be willing to fill in for other teachers when needed as well as start their own classes.  Communication skills are a must, for both working with other staff and families.  Participants range in age from 3-14 years.

Lifestyle Coach (Diabetes Prevention Program)

Housing Facilities Manager

Adaptive Programming Coordinator

  • Description: Give kids an amazing after school experience as part of our YMCA's After School Child Care program. We're currently looking to fill both Site-Coordinator and Group Leader positions at both our on-site and off-site program locations.

    Site-Coordinators are key leaders in our licensed after school programs. They oversee an after school site (either on or off-site) by developing and running programs, supervising staff, developing relationships with parents and kids and ensuring that every child has a fun and safe experience. To be a Site Coordinator you need to be 20 years old with at least a high school diploma or equivalent, and have one year of experience working with children, or have a bachelor's degree in a related field with six months working working with children, or a bachelor's degree in an unrelated field with nine months working with children.

    Group Leaders are responsible for running safe and fun programs for children after school. In addition to making sure that every day is both fun and educational, Group Leaders build relationships with parents and teach kids values by being role model. To be a Group Leader you need to be 18 years old with comply with the Department of Early Education and Care requirements, including having nine months experience working with children.
     
  • Requirements: Must be at least 18 years old and have at least 6 months experience in an after school program. The successful candidate for either position loves to work and interact with kids, is reliable, and is available on weekdays from 2pm - 6pm. Both positions are part-time, with flexible weekday schedule available.
     
  • Salary: Pay is commensurate with qualifications and size of after school site but starts at $9.00 and up (Group Leaders) and $12.00 and up (Site Coordinators). All YMCA staff receive a free membership, with access to all YMCAs of the North Shore.

Sports and Tennis Instructors

Status: Part-time position
Location: Lynch/van Otterloo YMCA
Description: Implement and manage sports classes for youth.
Requirements include:
Must have experience working with children. Must have Experience coaching sports or teaching physical activities. Tennis instructor must have tennis experience. Must possess the ability to multi task and problem solve. Ability communicate and talk to parents and guardians. Outgoing, friendly and energetic personality. 

Hours: 5-10  hours per week. Must be available by 3pm at the latest.
Salary: $8.50-$10/hour

Gymnastics Instructor

  • Description: Under the direction of the Gymnastics Director, the Gymnastics Instructor is responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of all gymnasts. A Gymnastics Instructor provides high quality gymnastics instruction to all children in his or her care and works to create an environment fosters in children a joy for learning and participating in the sport of gymnastics.

  • Must be a minimum of 16 years of age, maintain CPR and First Aid certifications and demonstrate the ability to perform correctly the skills appropriate to the levels being taught.

Lifeguards and Swim Instructors

  • Description: Lifeguards help supervise indoor pool, keeping adults and children safe in the water. Flexible hours and variety of shifts available.  
    Swim lesson instructors work with children in teaching the YMCA Swim Lesson program, including parent/child, preschool, or youth lessons.
  • Requirements: Lifeguards must be certified lifeguard and have current certifications in CPR and First Aid. Instructors do not need to be certified, but it is a plus. Training can be provided.

Swim Team Coaches

  • Status: Part time
  • Location: All YMCAs
  • Qualifications: The North Shore YMCA, with branches in Haverhill, Ipswich, Cape Ann, Beverly, Salem and Marblehead, is looking for part time swim coaches for our Senior groups, Age groups & Novice level groups. We are a competitive Swim Team for athletes ages 5 and up, of various levels. In order to be considered for this position, you must be available Monday-Friday evenings, as well as Saturday morning and occasional weekend meets.
  • Requirements: Candidates should have swim coaching experience, knowledge of stroke technique, good communication skills, and a can do attitude. Coaches should have or be willing to obtain CPR & First Aid certifications. It is encouraged that they also possess a current Lifeguarding certification or have completed the Red Cross Safety Training for Swim Coaches. ASCA certification and YMCA Principles of Competitive Swimming is preferred, or must be obtained during the first year of hire. Competitive swimming experience is preferred but not required.
