AQUATIC & Water Aerobics STAFF

    Description: 
  • Aquatics Staff: Qualified candidates are 16 years old or older, have current lifeguard and/or swim instructor certification, and a desire to work with people from a variety of backgrounds, build relationships, develop swim skills and confidence and the ability to manage a safe and supervised pool area. The position is part time and includes evenings and weekends.

MEMBER SERVICE ASSOCIATES

Essential Functions
  • Maintain current database of all child care participants. Ensure enrollment data, payment information, etc. is up to date & accurate.
  • Accurately maintain and submit on time attendance records for all Government subsidy families, including entering attendance information into a spreadsheet and informing the Subsidy Management Department of excessive absenteeism.
  • Appropriately invoice families, managing electronic and manual payments to ensure full collection of parent fees. Establish, implement, & monitor written payment plans as needed.
  • Collect from directors, verify & submit all monthly Bureau of Nutrition documents.
  • Setup and train families in using their online accounts.
  • With the assistance of the Childcare Director and Executive Directors, terminate children from the program as needed for non-payment of tuition. After termination, follow up on collections of the balance.
  • Inform the membership department of all children currently enrolled or unenrolled to ensure they are added to & removed from their free membership.
  • Assist in the preparation of reports, records or other projects as assigned.
  • Provide outstanding customer service, maintaining a positive, supportive & informative working relationship with all parents ensuring complete confidentiality.
  • Complete at least three site visits per year to all sites that participate in CACFP ensuring they are in compliance with the program’s requirements. Provide proper follow up and reporting to Directors related to the site visit including additional visits to monitor be non-compliance as required.

Cape Ann YMCA

Sports & Recreation Program Assistant

    • Teach sports and recreation classes, able to develop curriculum and lesson plans.
    • Develop marketing pieces for sports and recreational programs.

Personal Trainer

Group Exercise Instructors

  • Description: The Cape Ann YMCA is looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic Group Exercise Instructors to join our Health and Wellness team dedicated to our three areas of focus, Youth Development, Healthy Living and Social Responsibility.

Licensed Massage Therapist

  • Staus: Part-time

  • Under the direction of the Senior Director of Healthy Living and Disease Prevention, our massage therapists support our commitment to healthy living by providing competent, thorough and professional massage therapy services to the community. Therapists work in a clinically competent fashion, with clients of all ages,  medical backgrounds and treatment preferences.
Requirements:

  • Ensure that all massage areas are clean and sanitary and all equipment is in good working order. Report any issues with space or equipment in a timely manner.

  •  Understand and implement first aid procedures as necessary and follow through with local YMCA emergency plans (see floor staff manual for details)

North Shore Elite All-Stars is a competitive all-star cheer program within the Greater Beverly YMCA. Our program is in its second season and is growing rapidly! We are currently looking to hire head, assistant and tumbling coaches! 

Candidates must possess the following qualities-
  • Must be professional, reliable, goal-oriented, and passionate about teaching all levels of competitive cheerleading.
  • Must be organized and responsible.
  • Must have two or more years of competitive cheer coaching experience.
  • Must have strong knowledge of Level 1 - 3 tumbling and stunting techniques and skills.
  • Must have the flexibility to work weekends and weeknights with minimal travel.
  • Must enjoy working with children ages 4-18.

AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM GROUP LEADER
  • Status: Part-Time, Hourly, Hours 1:45 – 6:00 pmMonday –Friday, must be available at least three afternoons per week.
  • Location: Greater Beverly YMCA
  • Description: This position will be responsible for general supervision of students in after school programs. Must have great written and verbal communication skills and be detail-oriented. Applicant will be responsible for planning and implementing curriculum for students in grades Kindergarten – 5th grade.  Activities may include homework help, gym and outside activities, group enrichment, arts & crafts and STEM projects. Applicant must be knowledgeable with EEC regulations. The After School Program Group Leader will display and encourage caring, responsibility, honesty and respect in the development of curriculum and in all actions in the program.  
  • Requirements: Applicant must be at least 18 years old and meet one of the three requirements:  have a Bachelor’s Degree or an Associate’s Degree and have at least 3 months working with school age children; or have a high school diploma and 6 months working with school age children (in an after school program); or have 9 months working with school age children at an afterschool program.  Applicant must be First Aid and CPR certified.  Training is available.


7D Van Drivers

The Greater Beverly YMCA is looking for a responsible and dedicated member of our team to transport our most precious cargo. Our van drivers are committed to safety, develop relationships with the children they transport and their families and help us accomplish an important part of our support for the community. 
  • Status: Part-time
  • Duties include: transporting children, maintaining transportation log and maintenance reports and maintaining the cleanliness of the vehicle. 
  • Qualified candidates are 18 years of age or older, have a valid Massachusetts 7D drivers license and a clear driving record.

Group Exercise Coordinator

YMCA: Cape Ann YMCA
Classification: Part Time- 25 hours per week
Department: Membership
Reports to: Membership Director


Position Summary
Committed to our core values of Caring, Honesty, Respect and Responsibility, the Group Exercise Coordinator is responsible for the oversight and administration of the Group Exercise program. Communication and schedule management is an essential part of the position.  
 
Essential Functions
  • Assist in the training, selection, supervision and evaluation of the group exercise instructors.
  • Foster professional standards among instructors and members (Role Modeling).
  • Monitor all instructors to ensure they are providing safe, fun and motivational group exercise classes.
  • Create and maintain group exercise schedule.
  • Plan and assist with the delivery with special aerobic events.
  • Promote group exercise program to membership.
  • Track and report usage statistics for all group exercise classes.
  • Must be on the schedule and teach a minimum of 8 hours per week
  • Provide coverage for instructors who are out sick or on vacation
  • Ensure instructors have current and valid certifications
  • Communicate schedule changes to Membership Director and Membership Team.
  • Assist in upholding the Cape Ann Y Group Exercise standards.   
  • Responsible for securing coverage and ensuring there are no gaps on our group exercise schedule.
Qualifications
  • Hold group exercise certifications through a recognized organization.
  • Flexible schedule to adjust with programming needs.
  • Must have computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Publisher and Excel and able to learn Google Docs and gmail.
  • Must be willing to attend additional required trainings within the specified time per hiring schedule (51A online training, Child Abuse Prevention, etc.).
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a faced paced environment and relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all segments of the community.
Physical Demands
Sufficient strength, agility and mobility to perform all physical aspects of the position; including leading classes and activities, walking, standing, bending, reaching, and lifting. Must be able to teach at minimum 8 group exercise classes per week.
 
Compensation:
This position is full time hourly, 25 hours per week. Salary is $14 per hour for administrative duties and a Group Exercise Instructor rate commensurate to experience and qualifications.  The YMCA of the North Shore offers 8% retirement as an additional benefit after one year of full time employment.  Position is eligible for 2 weeks vacation and paid sick time.

Preschool Dance Instructor

  • Location: Greater Beverly YMCA
  • Description: We are looking for a part-time dance instructor who can teach and choreograph beginner levels of ballet, tap and hip hop to children ages 3-8 years old.  We will require at least two ballet classes, 1 tap class and/or 1 hip hop class be taught per week to a variety of age groups and on various days.  Dance classes run on weekday afternoons 3pm-6pm.  
  • Experience: At least one year of teaching (not assistanting) is required and must have a background in dance as well.  Classes are for our studio-based program so a September-June commitment is needed and classes will perform in our Spring Recital.

Title:    Housing Facility Manager

Reports to:    Greater Beverly YMCA Facility Director

Position Summary

Through direct supervision of the Greater Beverly Housing Facility Director, the Housing Facility Manager will be responsible for meeting the needs of the Housing Department.  The position may also include participation in North Shore YMCA projects under the direction of the Senior Maintenance Director.        

Essential Functions

  • Maintain YMCA housing property, including grounds cleanliness and maintenance (inside and outside), cleanliness, snow removal and sidewalk care.
  • Take a leadership role in developing and leading volunteer driven projects related to facility and grounds. 
  • Handle room/apartment preparation including caulking, painting, strip and wax floor, furniture replacement, etc.
  • Participate in scheduled NSYMCA projects as required.
  • Recruit, supervise and train all part-time and contracted housing maintenance and custodial personnel.
  • Ensure that all shifts are covered to meet the facility needs including covering vacant shifts due to staff sickness, failure to show, vacations and emergencies.
  • Maintain all YMCA housing maintenance areas; offices, supply closets and basements should be kept in a clean and orderly manner at all times.
  • Maintain YMCA housing record systems to include all equipment purchases, repairs and regular preventative maintenance actions.
  • Promptly and efficiently respond to emergency situations related to maintenance of the YMCA housing facilities at any time necessary.
  • Keep informed, through self-initiative and research, the current practices techniques related to the building and property operations as well as custodial functions.
  • Prioritize needed replacement or acquisition of facility equipment.
  • Prioritize and schedule YMCA maintenance needs while responding to day-to-day emergencies as they occur.
  • Demonstrate our four core values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility on a day-to-day basis including times of crisis or problem situations.
  • Maintain communication with North Shore YMCA staffs toward the smooth daily operations of YMCA housing and collaboration on services available to help our residents.

Qualifications

  • Must have at least 1 year handyman experience or comparable experience

Member Engagement Specialist - (2 positions available)

Position Summary
Committed to our core values of Caring, Honesty, Respect and Responsibility, the Member Engagement Specialist develops, expands and improves all member engagement from recruitment to retention and develops fitness programs to meet strategic plan areas as identified.    
 
Essential Functions
  • Deliver a high quality member and program participant experience by providing hands-on instruction for programs, engaging members on the fitness floor and around the Y.   
  • Expand and develop programs specific to Strategic Plan, aimed to serve populations as identified.   
  • Act as the recognizable community face of the Cape Ann Y, providing high quality customer service and connecting new participants and members to the Y.  
  • Develop plans and strategies to ensure uniformly excellent instruction and program curriculum.
  • Work with Director of Operations and Membership Director to market assigned programs and services. 
  • Help members achieve their fitness goals and develop systems to track progress and communicate with members.
  • Provide high quality fitness orientations, onboard new members and orientate them to the facility.
  • Provide tours and answering questions to prospective members
  • Perform exercise demonstrations and machine overviews on the fitness floor.  
  • Responsible for implementing new member benefits and special initiatives to increase awareness of Cape Ann Y.    
  • Participate in community events as an advocate for the Y and to assess community needs.
  • Develop new programs, services and events to meet the changing needs of the Cape Ann community.

After School Site Coordinator

  • Status: Part time
  • Location: Salem YMCA/Local School
  • Description: Part Time Site Coordinator for the before school and after school program. 25- 30 hours per week in an EEC Licensed Child Care Program.
  • Requirements: Must be at least 20 years of age, have a minimum of 6 months- 1 year experience (varies with the type of degree you have earned) of supervised experience working at a school age program. Must demonstrate appropriate knowledge of children's growth and development and be able to apply this understanding to appropriate activities. LIFEGUARDS AND SWIM INSTRUCTORS

  • Description: Lifeguards help supervise indoor pool, keeping adults and children safe in the water. Flexible hours and variety of shifts available.  
    Swim lesson instructors work with children in teaching the YMCA Swim Lesson program, including parent/child, preschool, or youth lessons.
  • Requirements: Lifeguards must be certified lifeguard and have current certifications in CPR and First Aid. Instructors do not need to be certified, but it is a plus. Training can be provided.

Full-time Age Group Swim Team Coach

Description: The YMCA of the North Shore SHARKS is a YMCA/USA Swim Team located on the North Shore of Boston. We are a 6 site team with over 400 competitive swimmers from age 5 -18 of varying levels. We are currently seeking a FULL TIME Age Group Coach.

Requirements: Candidates should have 2-5 years of experience, be a well-organized, energetic age group coach with a great understanding of swimmer development and stroke technique, a “self-starter” with a strong work ethic / moral values, a team player with excellent oral and written communication skills. Experience with Team Unify and Meet Manager is preferred but not required. Candidates should have (or be willing to acquire) all of the appropriate USA Swimming and YMCA Swimming certifications as well as lifeguarding or Red Cross Safety Training for Coaches. Any certifications not in place must be acquired our first 3-6 months.

The Data Entry/Membership Services Billing Specialist

  • Responsibilities:

    • Responsible for the reconciliations of daily deposit and postings of all membership applications and changes to membership account information.

    • Management of monthly reporting including but not limited to the upkeep of ‘on hold’, cancellations, membership renewal and employee staff information.

    • Follow up and collection of past due membership revenue.

    • Assist and resolve member issues regarding membership billing and account information.

The Housing Manager’s role is to coordinate the needs and interest of the YMCA Tenants with the Housing Director. The Housing Manager is responsible for the collection of rent, bank deposits, certifications, re-certifications and assisting with the daily management of the facility. The Housing Manager will create an atmosphere that embraces the core values of the YMCA while ensuring the safety and best interests of the YMCA of the North Shore’s are met.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Assist with the day to day operations of the resident facility.
  • Assist with tenant selection and placement adhering to the Fair Housing and Tax Credit Regulations
  • Attend monthly tenant meetings and assist with appropriate documentation completion.
  • Assist with monthly room inspections with appropriate notification and documentation.
  • Maintain YARDI data base and tenant files
  • Assist with local inspections, legal needs, and funding source meetings
  • Report all resident issues to the Housing Director immediately and assist with resolution as needed
  • Collect monthly rents and make timely deposits
  • Work with Housing Director to prepare necessary paperwork for legal proceedings.
  • Administer, monitor and ensure legal compliance in record keeping and security
  • Be available for emergencies
  • Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be, or agree to take the necessary steps to become, well versed in all applicable software.
  • Must be knowledgeable, or willing to become knowledgeable in Massachusetts Fair Housing and Tax Credit Regulations.
  • Must be knowledgeable of, and adhere to, all Association policies and procedures currently in effect
  • Must possess appropriate level of confidentiality regarding financial transactions and personal information.
  • Must be 18 years or older with high school diploma or equivalent
  • Must work efficiently with attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently
  • Familiar with basic computer skills and wilingness to learn housing software
  • A willingness to attend additional required trainings within the specified time per hiring schedule (51A online training, child abuse prevention, Low Income Housing Tax Credit, etc.)

Title: Housing Facility Director

Position Summary
Through direct supervision of the Director of Housing, the Housing Facility Director will be responsible for meeting the needs of the Housing Department.  The position may also include participation in North Shore YMCA projects under the direction of the Senior Maintenance Director.        

Essential Functions
  • Maintain YMCA housing property, including grounds cleanliness and maintenance (inside and outside), cleanliness, snow removal and sidewalk care. Take a leadership role in developing and leading volunteer driven projects related to facility and grounds. 
  • Assume responsibility for all pest infestations and extermination processes in conjunction with a pest control specialist.
  • Handle room/apartment preparation including caulking, painting, strip and wax floor, furniture replacement, etc.
  • In conjunction with the Senior Maintenance Director, annually meet to plan out yearly projects related to capital resources.  Through structured communication with Senior Maintenance Director, continuously update the project scheduling to meet deadlines and reorganize priorities.
  • Participate in scheduled NSYMCA projects as required.
  • In conjunction with the Director of Housing, develop and oversee maintenance budgets.  Make changes necessary to meet fiscal obligations.
  • Recruit, supervise and train all part-time and contracted housing maintenance and custodial personnel.
  • Ensure that all shifts are covered to meet the facility needs including covering vacant shifts due to staff sickness, failure to show, vacations and emergencies.
  • Assist as required to ensure smooth transition & legal compliance of residence is enforced.
  • Maintain all YMCA housing maintenance areas; offices, supply closets and basements should be kept in a clean and orderly manner at all times.
  • Maintain YMCA housing record systems to include all equipment purchases, repairs and regular preventative maintenance actions.
  • Conduct scheduled YMCA housing inspections to maintain all fire, health certificates and building permits.
  • Promptly and efficiently respond to emergency situations related to maintenance of the YMCA housing facilities at any time necessary.
  • Keep informed, through self-initiative and research, the current practices techniques related to the building and property operations as well as custodial functions.
  • Prioritize needed replacement or acquisition of facility equipment.
  • Prioritize and schedule housing maintenance needs while responding to day-to-day emergencies as they occur.
  • Demonstrate our four core values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility on a day-to-day basis including times of crisis or problem situations.
  • Maintain communication with North Shore YMCA staffs toward the smooth daily operations of YMCA housing and collaboration on services available to help our residents.
  • Maintain positive communication about the YMCA, its staff and volunteers inside and outside of the YMCA buildings.
  • Personally build relationships with YMCA residents and community through daily interactions.
  • All other duties as directed or required for the overall success of the organization including, but not limited to professional duties such as staff meetings, trainings, and participating in the annual campaign.

Qualifications
  • Must be able to physically demonstrate skills necessary to properly keep all facilities clean and maintained.  
  • Must be able to lift 50lbs.
  • Must maintain valid Massachusetts Driver’s License
  • Must be 18 years or older with high school diploma or equivalent
