Greater Beverly YMCA


Group Exercise INSTRUCTORs

  • Status: Part time or substitutes

  • Description: The Greater Beverly YMCA is looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic Group Exercise Instructors to join our Health and Wellness team dedicated to our three areas of focus, Youth Development, Healthy Living and Social Responsibility. 
  • Requirements: Qualified candidates are 18 or older, have a current Group Exercise Certification and a desire to work with people, build relationships, and help them achieve their fitness goals. The position is part time, with early morning, evening and weekend afternoon opportunities available. Experience in Muscle Conditioning, HIIT Training, Step, Seniorcise, AB classes, TRX classes and other Group Exercise Venues preferred.

Full-time Age Group Swim Team Coach

Location: Greater Beverly YMCA

Description: The YMCA of the North Shore SHARKS is a YMCA/USA Swim Team located on the North Shore of Boston. We are a 6 site team with over 400 competitive swimmers from age 5 -18 of varying levels. We are currently seeking a FULL TIME Age Group Coach.

Requirements: Candidates should have 2-5 years of experience, be a well-organized, energetic age group coach with a great understanding of swimmer development and stroke technique, a “self-starter” with a strong work ethic / moral values, a team player with excellent oral and written communication skills. Experience with Team Unify and Meet Manager is preferred but not required. Candidates should have (or be willing to acquire) all of the appropriate USA Swimming and YMCA Swimming certifications as well as lifeguarding or Red Cross Safety Training for Coaches. Any certifications not in place must be acquired our first 3-6 months.

Compensation is commensurate with experience and credentials. Additional responsibilities may include working with our older age groups, Masters and annual Swim Clinic.

Kindergarten Gymnastics Instructor

The Greater Beverly Y just re-structured their gymnastics program! As a result, we are currently looking to hire Parent & Tot, Kinder Gym and Youth Gymnastics Instructors. The Greater Beverly Y has one of the largest YMCA gymnastics organizations in the region. We have a long history of generating respect from the gymnastics community through strong performances and good sportsmanship.
 
Job Description: Under the direction of the Gymnastics Director, the Gymnastics Instructor is responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of all gymnasts. A Gymnastics Instructor provides high quality gymnastics training to all children in his or her care. They work hard to create an environment that fosters a joy of learning and participation in the sport of gymnastics.
 
Requirements:
  • Must be a minimum of 16 years of age, maintain CPR and First Aid certifications and demonstrate the ability to perform correctly the skills appropriate to the levels being taught.
  • Must be organized and responsible.
  • Must have previous gymnastics and/or childcare experience.
  • Must enjoy working with children ages 4-6.

Dance Team Coach

  • Location: Greater Beverly YMCA
  • Description: We are looking for a part-time dance team coach to lead our younger dancers (8 to 11 years old) in their competition experience in ballet and/or tap.  A requirement of weekly classes (1 to 3 hours per week), choreography, and attending competitions is needed.  
  • Experience: Must have prior experience in dance competitions and taught dance for at least two years.  We are looking for someone to take our dancers to the next level!

Position: Full-Time Aquatics Specialist
Location: Greater Beverly YMCA

Description:  This position is 50% Lifeguard adn 50% Swim Instructor. 
Lifeguards help supervise indoor pool, keeping adults and children safe in the water. Flexible hours and variety of shifts available.  Swim lesson instructors work with children in teaching the YMCA Swim Lesson program, including parent/child, preschool, or youth lessons.

Requirements: Lifeguards must be certified lifeguard and have current certifications in CPR and First Aid. Instructors do not need to be certified, but it is a plus. Training can be provided.

Early Education Teacher

AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM GROUP LEADER
  • Status: Part-Time, Hourly, Hours 1:45 – 6:00 pmMonday –Friday, must be available at least three afternoons per week.
  • Location: Greater Beverly YMCA
  • Description: This position will be responsible for general supervision of students in after school programs. Must have great written and verbal communication skills and be detail-oriented. Applicant will be responsible for planning and implementing curriculum for students in grades Kindergarten – 5th grade.  Activities may include homework help, gym and outside activities, group enrichment, arts & crafts and STEM projects. Applicant must be knowledgeable with EEC regulations. The After School Program Group Leader will display and encourage caring, responsibility, honesty and respect in the development of curriculum and in all actions in the program.  
  • Requirements: Applicant must be at least 18 years old and meet one of the three requirements:  have a Bachelor’s Degree or an Associate’s Degree and have at least 3 months working with school age children; or have a high school diploma and 6 months working with school age children (in an after school program); or have 9 months working with school age children at an afterschool program.  Applicant must be First Aid and CPR certified.  Training is available.


Position:  Kids Fun Night Staff (part-time)
Location: Greater Beverly YMCA
This youth program runs every Friday night (schedule subject to change) and staff will help facilitate activities at the YMCA for children grades 1-5. Activities include open swimming, sports games and recreational gymnastics times. Program runs 6pm-9pm.  Free employee membership is included.

North Shore Elite All-Stars is a competitive all-star cheer program within the Greater Beverly YMCA. Our program is in its second season and is growing rapidly! We are currently looking to hire head, assistant and tumbling coaches! 

Candidates must possess the following qualities-
  • Must be professional, reliable, goal-oriented, and passionate about teaching all levels of competitive cheerleading.
  • Must be organized and responsible.
  • Must have two or more years of competitive cheer coaching experience.
  • Must have strong knowledge of Level 1 - 3 tumbling and stunting techniques and skills.
  • Must have the flexibility to work weekends and weeknights with minimal travel.
  • Must enjoy working with children ages 4-18.

7D Van Drivers

The Greater Beverly YMCA is looking for a responsible and dedicated member of our team to transport our most precious cargo. Our van drivers are committed to safety, develop relationships with the children they transport and their families and help us accomplish an important part of our support for the community. 
  • Status: Part-time
  • Duties include: transporting children, maintaining transportation log and maintenance reports and maintaining the cleanliness of the vehicle. 
  • Qualified candidates are 18 years of age or older, have a valid Massachusetts 7D drivers license and a clear driving record.

Group Exercise Coordinator

YMCA: Cape Ann YMCA
Classification: Part Time- 25 hours per week
Department: Membership
Reports to: Membership Director


Position Summary
Committed to our core values of Caring, Honesty, Respect and Responsibility, the Group Exercise Coordinator is responsible for the oversight and administration of the Group Exercise program. Communication and schedule management is an essential part of the position.  
 
Essential Functions
  • Assist in the training, selection, supervision and evaluation of the group exercise instructors.
  • Foster professional standards among instructors and members (Role Modeling).
  • Monitor all instructors to ensure they are providing safe, fun and motivational group exercise classes.
  • Create and maintain group exercise schedule.
  • Plan and assist with the delivery with special aerobic events.
  • Promote group exercise program to membership.
  • Track and report usage statistics for all group exercise classes.
  • Must be on the schedule and teach a minimum of 8 hours per week
  • Provide coverage for instructors who are out sick or on vacation
  • Ensure instructors have current and valid certifications
  • Communicate schedule changes to Membership Director and Membership Team.
  • Assist in upholding the Cape Ann Y Group Exercise standards.   
  • Responsible for securing coverage and ensuring there are no gaps on our group exercise schedule.
Qualifications
  • Hold group exercise certifications through a recognized organization.
  • Flexible schedule to adjust with programming needs.
  • Must have computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Publisher and Excel and able to learn Google Docs and gmail.
  • Must be willing to attend additional required trainings within the specified time per hiring schedule (51A online training, Child Abuse Prevention, etc.).
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a faced paced environment and relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all segments of the community.
Physical Demands
Sufficient strength, agility and mobility to perform all physical aspects of the position; including leading classes and activities, walking, standing, bending, reaching, and lifting. Must be able to teach at minimum 8 group exercise classes per week.
 
Compensation:
This position is full time hourly, 25 hours per week. Salary is $14 per hour for administrative duties and a Group Exercise Instructor rate commensurate to experience and qualifications.  The YMCA of the North Shore offers 8% retirement as an additional benefit after one year of full time employment.  Position is eligible for 2 weeks vacation and paid sick time.

Position: Full-time Personal Trainers to join an active and growing health and wellness team.


Description: Committed to our core values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility, our Personal Trainers are responsible for providing high-quality health and wellness programming, personal training and customer service. In addition, this position builds relationships with Y members, guests and staff and actively supports and encourages all stakeholders to maintain a healthy lifestyle. 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Deliver high-quality personal training. 
- Instruct group-exercise and fitness classes as assigned. 
- Act as a member of the fitness floor staff as assigned. 
- Provide exceptional customer service to all members, guests and staff. 
- As assigned, train part-time staff and volunteers to meet health and wellness needs of members and the community. 
- Maintain accurate records essential for control, evaluation, and reporting supervisor. Prepare reports of program and client status as assigned.
- Personally build relationships with YMCA members, program participants, and families through daily interactions.

Requirements:
Must have CPR and First Aid certifications and re-certify annually. 

Must have and maintain a nationally recognized personal training certification.

Description: Implement and manage sports classes for youth.

Requirements include:
Must have experience working with children. Must have Experience coaching sports or teaching physical activities. Tennis instructor must have tennis experience. Must possess the ability to multi task and problem solve. Ability communicate and talk to parents and guardians. Outgoing, friendly and energetic personality.

Swim Team Coaches

  • Status: Part time
  • Location: All YMCAs
  • Qualifications: The North Shore YMCA, with branches in Haverhill, Ipswich, Cape Ann, Beverly, Salem and Marblehead, is looking for part time swim coaches for our Senior groups, Age groups & Novice level groups. We are a competitive Swim Team for athletes ages 5 and up, of various levels. In order to be considered for this position, you must be available Monday-Friday evenings, as well as Saturday morning and occasional weekend meets.
  • Requirements: Candidates should have swim coaching experience, knowledge of stroke technique, good communication skills, and a can do attitude. Coaches should have or be willing to obtain CPR & First Aid certifications. It is encouraged that they also possess a current Lifeguarding certification or have completed the Red Cross Safety Training for Swim Coaches. ASCA certification and YMCA Principles of Competitive Swimming is preferred, or must be obtained during the first year of hire. Competitive swimming experience is preferred but not required.

Group Leader - Afterschool Program

  • Working with children K-8th Grade before and after school. Group leaders are role models who help with homework, initiate group games, implement daily curriculum activities and ensure the children are safe and having fun.

    3.Evidence of immunity to measles, mumps and rubella.
    4.Maintain current CPR and First Aid.

LIFEGUARDS AND SWIM INSTRUCTORS

Location: Lynch/van Otterloo (Marblehead), Haverhill, Salem, Ipswich, Cape Ann, Greater Beverly

Description: Lifeguards help supervise indoor pool, keeping adults and children safe in the water. Flexible hours and variety of shifts available.  
Swim lesson instructors work with children in teaching the YMCA Swim Lesson program, including parent/child, preschool, or youth lessons.
Requirements: Lifeguards must be certified lifeguard and have current certifications in CPR and First Aid. Instructors do not need to be certified, but it is a plus. Training can be provided.

AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM GROUP LEADER
  • Status: Part-Time, Hourly, Hours 1:45 – 6:00 pmMonday –Friday, must be available at least three afternoons per week.

  • Description: This position will be responsible for general supervision of students in after school programs. Must have great written and verbal communication skills and be detail-oriented. Applicant will be responsible for planning and implementing curriculum for students in grades Kindergarten – 5th grade.  Activities may include homework help, gym and outside activities, group enrichment, arts & crafts and STEM projects. Applicant must be knowledgeable with EEC regulations. POSITION SUMMARY
The YMCA of the North Shore is currently looking for a dedicated full time Recruiter/Sourcer who will be responsible for proactively locating talent for the YMCA locations across our association.  

The Recruiter will use various recruiting tools (internet and direct sourcing methods) to find talented individuals and will work in coordination with our local YMCA teams.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Lead the recruiting process for all open part time and full time YCMA roles across the YMCA of the North Shore (job postings, candidate phone screens, candidate follow-up, etc.)
  • Source qualified candidates utilizing job boards and using creative search techniques on the internet 
  • Partner with local YMCAs to generate ideas, leverage resources and share information that facilitates an effective search process
  • Research and generate lists of target candidates within established industries
  • On-line job posting strategy development, including research into new job boards and websites
  • Mining social networking databases for active and passive candidates
  • Build out and utilizing our applicant tracking system
  • Build a pipeline of candidates for skill sets that are needed repeatedly for pivotal and critical part and full time roles
  • Proactively build talent community relationships and execute creative and innovative sourcing strategies

QUALIFICATIONS
  • 2+ years’ experience working in a staffing or recruiting field
  • 2+ years’ experience sourcing talent for a variety of positions with particular experience in environments that rely on extensive part time work forces
  • Proven internet research capabilities
  • Familiarity with social media tools such as Twitter, Linkedin, Google+ and Facebook
  • Strong recruiting process management capabilities
