Beverly Cabot Street YMCA

History
Founded by a group of Beverly businessmen in 1892, the Cabot Street YMCA has continued its tradition of providing quality programming and a place for people to come together to strengthen the community. 

The building was erected in 1911 with President William Howard Taft helping to lay the building's cornerstone. Originally, the facility was a place for the young men of Beverly to come together and gather in fellowship…a place where values were taught that strengthened the entire community.  Today, the Cabot Y continues to serve the downtown Beverly community where it began its work over a century ago.

Walk into the fully renovated Cabot Street YMCA and you enter a YMCA that maintains a proud heritage in a contemporary re-energized downtown facility. The $2.3 million dollar renovation was completed in 1998 and provides Greater Beverly residents with a modern facility that is completely handicapped accessible.  The downtown facility houses a fitness center, cardiovascular room, two renovated squash courts, bright and cheery child care space, a revitalized and welcoming warm-water pool, a relaxing therapeutic spa, modern locker rooms that feature soothing steam rooms and a family changing room.

With all of the updates that have been made over the years, one thing remains constant—quality programming.  The Cabot Y Aquatics department offers innovative therapeutic and rehabilitative programs in our warm water pool, perfect for infants, seniors or individuals with special needs.   The YMCA takes its child care quite seriously.  We know how to have fun and teach children the important tools necessary to prepare them for school in a safe environment. 

The Cabot Street Y maintains the traditions of yesterday and the excitement of today.  Come in, take a tour and join the fun!  There are plenty of public meters and free parking in the downtown Beverly area.  We look forward to your visit!

From Route 128 take Exit 22 to Beverly (Route 62).
Go straight through the light and follow Route 62 to downtown Beverly for approximately 4 miles.
When you see Town Paint and Supply ahead turn right onto Cabot Street.
The YMCA is located approximately ¼ mile down Cabot Street on your left.
