Programs With A Purpose
The YMCA of the North Shore believes that our childcare programs are an extension of the home. We seek to partner with children and adults in their daily functioning, to relieve stress, and to provide the necessary resources that will strengthen the family unit that we believe is the foundation for a healthy community, society and world. The YMCA advocates for all parents in their efforts to be responsible caregivers who are concerned with developmentally appropriate activities, practices, and programs for their children. YMCA Infant/Toddler programs provide a safe, wholesome environment in which children can learn to communicate, cooperate and care about each other.
The Salem Early Learning Center cares and nurtures children ages 6 weeks though 33 months. Our YMCA ensures that all children receive care in a safe and healthy environment. The staff set the stage for each child to learn at his/her own pace.

What will your child learn and develop?
Our Infant/Toddler staff work with each parent to develop goals for his/her child. Infants and Toddlers work hard to learn about themselves and others, to learn about moving, to learn about the world around them, and to learn about communicatign. Our staff make sure the stage is set for optimum learning to occur.
At the Salem Early Learning Center your child will learn and develop age-appropriate skills on a fun-filled schedule of activities each month. Our experienced teachers provide parents with a bi-monthly newsletter that highlights the learning activities that we have planned as well as daily activity sheets that provide important feedback about each child in the program. It's one way we can keep our parents informed on the learning happening in our program.
