Saturday, November 22nd, 2008 was a terrific night for thousands of deserving North Shore kids, adults and families. 

The YMCA’s Legacy Ball was a tremendous success in raising more than $155,000 for the YMCA’s financial assistance program that provides Y programs and services to over 5,500 individuals on the North Shore.

Nearly 500 guests attended the event that hosted a silent and live auction, coupled with dinner and dancing to the live band, Catch 22.  Click here to view photos of the event.

This year our YMCA will award over $1.5 million in financial aid to those in need.  We provide essential child care, camp, swim lessons, afterschool programs and memberships to those who wouldn’t be able to benefit without the tremendous generosity of our donors, sponsors and guests.  We give young children an opportunity for early learning that builds the foundation for long-term learning success. We develop and implement special programs for youth and teens to build leadership skills, provide service-learning opportunities and build positive assets to help kids cope with the challenges of growing up.  We give individuals and families an affordable place to call home in Y housing developments.  We give all people, regardless of ability to pay, the chance for a healthy lifestyle with access to facilities that develop a healthy spirit, mind and body.  It’s a big job.  And it takes the support of thousands of individuals.
