Programs at the Cape Ann YMCA are grounded in a rich history of meeting community needs. Organized in 1858 as the Gloucester YMCA, the Cape Ann Y is one of the oldest YMCAs in the nation that has been providing innovative programs for the residents of Cape Ann for 145 years. With such strong traditions, we have helped to build strong kids, strong families and strong communities by serving more than 2,000 program participants each year in Aquatics, Camp, Sports, Teen programs and more.
Our ocean-side community opens the door to innovative and needed aquatic programs like Lifeguard Training, Ocean Gig Rowing, and SCUBA. Our child care after school programs meets a big need for working families to ensure their children are safe and involved in constructive activities during those precious after school hours. And did we mention camp? We welcome nearly 250 campers each week at our YMCA Camp Spindrift each summer where memories and friendships are built that last a lifetime.
