Transitional Kindergarten

Our highly regarded Transitional Kindergarten class focuses upon those skills which will assure that your child is prepared for kindergarten. children transition to become independent learners, develop self-confidence and social skills for sharing in a classroom setting. Thier creativity is nurtured as they are encouraged to think, reason, question and experiment as learning becomes exciting!
 Curriculum focuses on: Language and literacy development, math activities in grouping, sorting and classifying: Science and nature asaraeness through lands-on experience and field trips, musch apprecaation through rhythm, song and instruments; fine moter skills; experience with letters and sounds in aprint rich environment; development of visual discrimination; and verbal skill develpment such as speaking and listening in a group setting.
Enrichment Programs: The YMCA will be offering various enrichment classes that will include swim lessons, gymnastics, sports activities, field trips, and cooking.
Daily Activities: Creative play, social interaction, stories, songs, art expression, kindergarten readiness skills, outdoor play, and fine and gross motor development.
Our class rooms are limited to 20 children daily per classroom with 2 teachers. A flexible schedule allows families to choose two through five days per week and different time options.
