FEBRUARY CLASS HIGHLIGHT
Triple Threat Theatre Week
Learn what it takes to be a Broadway star! Come join the Y Theatre Company as we take our February break to teach our young actors how to sing, act and dance…all at the same time. Being a triple threat is one of the most challenging goals for any actor. We will spend our days working on solo and group Broadway numbers while learning singing, dancing, and acting techniques which will culminate in an performance on Friday at 4pm. Space is limited so sign up today to reserve your spot.

Explore the Arts
Ages 2-5 years
Parents and children will experience the joy of creating music, drama and art together in this all-inclusive class. Play instruments, read and act out stories, and do fun arts and crafts projects. Class taught by Hannah McBride.

Oh the Drama!
Ages 3-5 years
Introduce your child to the world of theatre and creative play! This fun class encourages pre-schoolers to explore their imaginations using masks, storytelling, creative movement, puppets and folk tales. A great opportunity for children who like to “make believe!”

Mini Magic Musicals
Ages 4-7
Your dramatic young star will shine on stage in a mini stage production of Mary Poppins. Rehearse songs and scenes while being coached on stage presence, confidence and basic theatre terms. Class culminates in a performance for friends and family. Cast size is limited so please register early.

Make Your Move: A Movement and Improv Class
Ages 3-5
This exciting new class will take the basics of storytelling and stage presence introduced in Explore the Arts to the next level by adding to the child's sense of space, motion, and their connection to music and story. We will be focusing on understanding how to express a story through physical theatre, improv, and dance. The students will have the chance to work on building a piece of choreography or story that they will perform at the end of the session.

Intro to Voice Lessons
Grades 4-6
Voice lessons need not be intimidating, and auditions need not be frightening! Learn voice techniques, placement, song interpretation and proper breathing in these group-setting voice lessons. Gain confidence and learn auditioning how-to’s. Improve vocal ability while singing musical theatre tunes! Class culminates in a Voice Recital.

Dramatics
Grades 4-6
Ever wanted to be involved in theatre but don’t know where to start? Or are you a young actor who would like to work on your improvisational skills? This class is perfect for both the beginner and the experienced actor. Learn how to be a better performer and what it takes to be a young professional in the world of theatre. Gain confidence and learn auditioning how-to’s. The class culminates in a performance for friends and family.

S.T.A.G.E.- The Pre-Show
Ages 8-11
Is your theatrical young star pining for even more theatre in their life? S.T.A.G.E- The Preshow is designed for kids not old enough to join S.T.A.G.E., but already hankering for the S.T.A.G.E. experience. Attend local theatre productions once a month. Meet to debrief the shows and learn about costume design, directing, acting and music through the conversation. Even get the inside scoop on the Y Theatre Company!
Meets the second Thursday of every month, from 5:30-6:30 at the Salem YMCA.
$35/month covers the cost of seeing one show each month and monthly meetings

S.T.A.G.E. (Students of Theatre Arts Gaining Experience)
Grades 6 & up
Want to watch theatre, talk theatre and create theatre? The Y Theatre Company is thrilled to present S.T.A.G.E.- a club for truly devoted thespians. Learn about theatre through professional workshops and show attendance, and be part of the decision process for the shows we put on. Everyone grades 6th through 12th welcome.
$35/Month covers the cost of attending 1 professional theatre show a month and S.T.A.G.E. meetings, which happen on the second Tuesday of every month at the Salem YMCA(6:30-8pm).
Musical Theatre Prep
Grades 4-8
This class, taught by Katie Oberlander, explores the musical theater genre for both beginning and experienced performers. Students will work on scenes and monologues, learn standard choreography and sing classic musical theatre songs in group and individual settings. This is a perfect opportunity to prepare audition material, gain individual performance skills and work collaboratively with new friends. Classes will culminate in an end of session presentation of our work.
Fee: Member - $98 Community - $147
Class length - 1 hour

Private Lessons
Private voice and acting lessons provide personal attention to a young performer. One-on-one coaching focused on specific strengths and development areas, improve the participants abilities, and impliment healthy habits in voice and performance techniques, as well as audition and performance confidence. Arranged by appointment, catered to participant and instructor schedules. Schedule individual sessions, or register for a 4-lesson package.
Single 45 minute lesson: Members $45 / Community $67.50
Package of Four (45 minute lessons): Members $150 / Community $225
Justin Gigliello
Voice Instructor
Justin holds a Bachelor's degree in Vocal Performance from The Boston Conservatory. At the Conservatory he studied with vocal coaches Victor Jannett and Damien Francoeur Krzyzek. In addition to performance, Justin has training in vocal pedagogy, diction, theater, and theory. Justin has performed in and around Boston with many teachers and is now taking his training to private lessons.
Natalie Miller- Private Voice Instructor, Musical Theatre Voice
Natalie holds a BA in Theatre from Gordon College where she trained in directing, acting, and costuming. She has been working in theatre both on and off stage for 5 years. In the past year she has coached students in acting with a focus on dialects of the English language, as well as directing the vocal ensemble "NSY Vocalists" which performs at YMCA of the North Shore events. millern@northshoreymca.org
