Youth/Teen Aquatics
Youth/Teen Swim Lessons
Grades 1 and up
For your convenience! No more trying to determine the right level and then hoping it is offered at the time that suits your schedule. Simply reserve your spot and our swim instructors will split the children up into ability groups. Skills covered will be determined by the ability of each group of swimmers, but will follow our regular swim lesson progression. Class length is 45 minutes.

Springboard Diving Lessons
Grades 3 and up
This class is designed for students competent in diving who want to learn springboard skills. The approach, spring, tuck, pike, and reverse dives are introduced.

Competitive Swimming - Bronze Group
Grades K-4
Bronze Group is a perfect bridge between swimming lessons and swim team for the younger swimmer. It teaches stroke technique for free style, breaststroke, butterfly and backstroke, and also includes racing starts and turns as well as the principles of streamlining. Class length is 45 minutes.

Competitive Swimming - Silver Group
Grades K-4
The Silver/Gold Team is designed for swimmers who wish to learn the four competitive strokes in a formal class with their peers. The focus will be on stroke mechanics, starts, turns and aerobic conditioning.

Swim Team
Grades 5 and up
The YMCA of the North Shore swim team strives to teach, train and motivate children to achieve their potential in
competitive swimming. We create valuable experiences carried throughout life. Our direction and philosophy
applies to the novice as well as the national caliber athlete. Our highly specialized coaching staff emphasizes
a 10:1 swimmer to coach ration, a year-round program, and ability-based practice groups. For more information,
