Good Times NOT Prohibited at YMCA Speakeasy!

Y Raises Over $245,000 for local kids and families in need - a GREAT success!


On Saturday November 20th, the YMCA hosted its annual gala event at the Crowne Plaza in Danvers. Over 500 guests spent a captivating evening browsing a silent auction, bidding in a spirited live auction, and enjoying sumptuous hors d'oeuvres and dinner with friends. 

The YMCA Speakeasy wasn't all fun and games (although the casino and dancing were highlights)!  The night was about supporting our neighbors in need on the North Shore.  The event raised over $175,000 (net) in essential funds for the YMCA's financial assistance program which supports over 6,500 children, adults and families.

The cause resonated with guests as they bid a record amount of funds for YMCA camperships during the live auction.  Bidder paddles were a flurry as donors bid more than $75,000 for Y camp scholarships in just 15 short minutes!

It was a good night for guests and a good night for the Y who will award over $2 million this year in financial assistance.  The bottom line... it was a good night for the 6,500 deserving kids and families who will benefit from the Y's financial assistance program.  Thanks to all who helped make this the "greatest gala ever"!
