Come to the Greater Beverly to take part in the wonders of Dance!  With classes for preschoolers, youth and adults, all members can participate in movement.

Our Sterling School of Dance is our year-round dance program, dedicated to offering studio quality classes, in a small setting.  Your child will have the same instructor September 2011-June 2012, progressing througout the year in their dance skills and techniques.  An end of the year recital will take place at Beverly High School on Sunday, June 10th to show off all they have been working so hard on.

READ ABOUT OUR DANCE INSTRUCTORS:

Daylisa Alonzo; Dance Instructor
Daylisa was born in the Dominican Republic where she started dancing at six years old and participated in many Latin Salsa dance competitions.  Daylisa moved to the U.S. when she was 12 years old and quickly learned hip hop and jazz.   She has been a member of dance teams out of Boston, such as Essencia Latina and Caribbean Explosion.  She’s taught dance for the Roxbury Community center and choreographed performances for festivals and non-profit events in the community.

Alana Comeau; Dance Instructor
Alana starting working for the Y as an Assistant Dance Teacher and is now teaching on her own.  Alana currently attends Salem State University and on her spare time competes with own studios traveling dance teach from the North Shore Dance Academy. 

Carole Finn-Weidman; Dance Instructor
Carole has been working at the Y as a dance instructor for several year, and has 3 daughters involved with classes as well.

Lorigan Sudak; Youth, Family & Camp Director
Lorigan has worked for the Y for a total of 7 years, now in her 4th year as the Youth & Family Director.  Lorigan was a dancer at Dance Etc. Dance Studio in Salem, for 15 years, where she studied lyrical ballet, pointe, tap and modern jazz.  In her last 2 years at Dance Etc. she was a memeber of the Senior Company dance class and assisted in teaching PreBallet and PreTap classes.  Lorigan also danced for 1 year on the UMass Dartmouth Dance Team, where she has a BFA in Art Education.  Lorigan also started the Preschool Dance Classes at Harborlight Montessori School in Beverly.  Lorigan oversees Arts & Humanities, Dance, Adaptive, Special Events, and Summer Camp for Y and is currently in the process of gettig her M.Ed. in Special Education.

Leza Milham; Dance Instructor
Leza has been dancing for 25 years, studying ballet with the Boston Ballet, Children's Ballet Theatre, the Royal Ballet Academy of England, Cambridge School of Ballet, the Jeanette Neil School in Boton, and one summer with the school of America Ballet in New York.  Leza has studied classical ballet, modern dance and jazz.  Some of Leza's performances include Boston Ballet's The Nutcracker, Sleeping Beauty, Swan Lake, Les Slyphide, and Silhouettes in Motion.  Leza is also the director of Judah Dance, a traveling dance troupe tat visits schools.  Leza also teaches at Beacon Christian Academy.
