Nearly 2,000 people participate in the Y’s Corner Stone program for cancer patients and their families. Through the generous support of the Rivera-Krall Family Foundation, the Y has expanded the support offered to Corner Stone participants.
The Rivera - Krall Family Foundation has partnered with the YMCA of the North Shore to create the RIVERA- KRALL KEY STONE PROGRAM for Corner Stone participants to help with some of the overwhelming financial burdens that also come with a cancer diagnosis. Through this generous donation, Corner Stone participants from low to middle-income households can focus on their health journey and receive up to $1000 in support from KEY STONE.
Examples of eligible expenses include, but are not limited to:
- car repair
- critical household repairs
- unforeseen medical expenses
- past-due rent due to unexpected circumstances
Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis. It takes approximately two weeks for a response with an initial approval (which will be subject to the completion of an additional application) or reason for denial. The Foundation requires an Application for Hardship Assistance, pursuant to IRS guidelines, for each grant recipient. Following the completion of the Application, which entails disclosure of household income and net worth, the Foundation will pay the vendor directly. Following payment, we will request that you complete a brief survey to provide feedback on the process and your overall experience.
