YouTube. Animation. Magazines. Television. Posters. Film. Photography. Radio. Podcasts. Abundant forms of media have become staples of our everyday lives, in front of us wherever we turn.
That’s what SAYMedia is all about. Students choose from multiple tracks of study, including, but not limited to video production, animation, graphic design and audio engineering.
At SAYMedia, students learn to create digital media, and then apply these skills by working on real video marketing projects for the YMCA, community events, and public services in Salem.
Students are taught advanced computer skills, camera operation, and how to use professional editing software. The majority of SAYMedia's instruction occurs during real-world circumstances. Students and staff work throughout the North Shore of Massachusetts, shooting whatever video required.
They then edit the video footage captured and distribute it to whomever the client may be. On-site, students learn to make challenging decisions: camera and microphone placement in relation to subjects of interest.

Our goal is to give youth and teens the opportunity to experience music through free instruction, development, creation, and performance of various music and production elements during after school hours. This is about much more than the music; it’s about inspiring and encouraging youth to serve their community with greater awareness. Through our state-of-the-art sound engineering facility, music instruments and equipment, as well as partnering with local and professional musicians, we are striving to maintain a degree of excellence that we believe every student deserves.

Art classes provide are excellent opportunities for youth to gain exposure to a significant aspect of our culture. Through the arts, participants experience activities that foster self-expression and build self-esteem, develop imagination, critical thinking, and valuable social skills. Exposures to the arts develop progressive skills that help us connect and understand other people and express our ideas, while providing a unique entertainment experience.
YMCA Theatre Camps offer a great opportunity for creative fun during the summer! Our fantastic staff loves spending the summer with kids age 6+, growing confidence, building friendships, and of course, having a blast!
