Stories of Substance - original play inspired by true stories of substance abuse and use

The YMCA of the North Shore Theatre Company's original program Stories of Substance uses theatre as a medium to encourage conversations between young adults and their communities about substance use and addiction. This production tells the stories of real young adults in recovery on the North Shore, as told by playwrights from the Salem Athenaum. Our hope is that the students on and off the stage know help is available, and that they are not alone.  Inspired by true stories of local young adults and written by Salem playwright Matthew Phillion.

This production is intended for use by Middle and High Schools to encourage critical conversation about this national epidemic.
