POTTERY AT THE SALEM Y

Pottery at the Salem Y sparks creativity in youth and adults alike.

Through hands-on clay work, participants discover new ways to express themselves and bring their ideas to life. Our pottery programs build skills in handbuilding, wheel throwing, and glazing—encouraging confidence, imagination, and a lifelong love of the arts at any age.

We’re excited to offer pottery and claymaking classes for both youth and adults! Join us and unleash your creativity while learning the fundamentals and techniques. Get ready to get your hands dirty and explore in either 8-week class sessions, pop-up monthly workshops, or open studios (coming soon!)

Our Studio

The Y’s pottery studio is a welcoming space designed for creativity and learning. Equipped with 8 pottery wheels, a large building table, sink, whiteboards, and dedicated shelving for finished pieces, it’s the perfect place for both beginners and experienced potters to explore the art of clay. A kiln will be installed later this winter, expanding opportunities for firing and finishing work right on site.
