ADAPTIVE AND INCLUSION PROGRAMS

EVERYONE BELONGS AT THE Y!

The Y is committed to the inclusion model giving people of all abilities access to our programs. To accomplish this, we partner with families and individuals with disabilities to develop programming to meet their unique needs. To meet this goal we provide a unique registration process that includes an intake and creation of Individual Ability Plans (IAP).  With a plan in place, individuals with disabilities gain the support they need to successfully immerse into a program where they can learn, thrive, and grow.   It is our priority to make the inclusion model an integral part of our everyday operations so that all members have access to our facilities, programs, and services.

Our Sterling Y in Beverly and Cape Ann Y in Gloucester has a variety of inclusion programs including social clubs, aquatics/swim teams, summer camp, and more!

Water Wise swim lesson program for children with autism

This unique program combines the expertise of Northeast Arc and our YMCA swim lesson program to provide all children with the life skill of knowing how to swim.
